Olde Homer House New Location
Cortland,
NY – A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the Olde Homer
House’s new and expanded location on Groton Avenue is
scheduled for Thursday, June 9 – almost 8 months to the day
from when fire gutted the store’s former location on North
Main Street.
Friends, family, and community leaders will join owners Lisa
Lindhorst and Jackie May at the ribbon-cutting, which will
kick off a three-day Grand Opening showcasing new product
lines as well as offering discounts on all purchases.
“We’re very excited for people to see our new look,”
Lindhorst said. “The fire was devastating but we’re so
appreciative of all the support we’ve received. It will be a
happy day for us.”
Now in its 10th year, Olde Homer House offers a collection
of carefully chosen decorative accessories and replicated
furnishings including pottery, pewter, folk art, iron and
tinware, lighting and shades, upholstery, window treatments,
Windsor chairs and wood furnishings.
“I saw Lisa and Jackie the day after the fire and they were
just stunned,” said Garry VanGorder, executive director of
the Chamber of Commerce. “It’s been a long road for them but
I know they’re really excited about the future and what they
plan to offer the community.”
Another business displaced by the fire, Vickie Delaney’s
Cortland Picture Frame, returned to its former space after
extensive renovations earlier this spring.
