Kevin Crosley will chair 2005 United Way Campaign

Homer native Kevin Crosley will chair United Way for Cortland County’s 2005 fund-raising campaign, the agency’s Board of Directors announced today. Crosley is vice president of sales and marketing for the J.M. Murray Center in Cortlandville.
“Since his professional career began here in 1984, Kevin has held a number of community leadership and fund development positions that have had a major impact on Cortland County,” said United Way executive director Cynthia Y. Eberhart. “We are excited to have him step forward this year and lend his leadership and marketing skills to our own volunteer efforts,” she said. Eberhart added that, despite challenging economic times, United Way has made major strides in its fund-raising in recent years through creative campaign ideas and strong leadership.
“I look forward to the challenge of working with the community in this important role,” Crosley said. “I appreciate the hard work of the United Way volunteers, who are key to this organization, and I hope to capitalize on some new ideas this year in an effort to support the outstanding programs run by our 13 member agencies.”
Crosley has already begun making personal visits to each member agency and has proposed introducing some new ways to support United Way in the upcoming campaign. “Above all,” he said, “we want our donors to feel that each dollar they give has an impact on the campaign, that it matters.”
Among his current community affiliations, Crosley is a member and past president of the Cortland Breakfast Rotary Club, chairman of the Brockway Foundation and president of the University Club. He also serves as a trustee for the Elizabeth Brewster House and is a member of the board of directors of CMH Services. In addition, Crosley is a member of Homer Congregational Church and serves as its stewardship chair.
Donors to the 2005 campaign will support the work of these local United Way Member agencies: American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America (Baden-Powell Council), Catholic Charities, Cortland Area Child Care Council, Cortland County Child Development Centers, Family Counseling Services, Franzeska Racker Centers, Girl Scout Council of Central New York, Madison Cortland ARC, Mental Health Associations (REACH), The Salvation Army, Cortland YMCA and Cortland YWCA.
