Homer resident Dusty
Stillman has been named to the Cortland County Chamber of Commerce Board of
Directors.
Stillman, general manager (HVAC/other stream) for Intertek ETL
SEMKO, will serve on the board through 2005, said president Mark Travis.
“We’re very pleased that Dusty has agreed to join us,” Travis said. “We’ve
got an excellent, active board and he’s a great addition to it.”
A graduate of the Leadership Cortland program co-sponsored by the chamber
and Tompkins Cortland Community College, Stillman manages 10 departments
responsible for testing consumer and industrial products for performance and
safety. His total revenue responsibilities exceed $20 million annually.
The ETL SEMKO division of Intertek provides access to global markets through
its local services including product safety testing and certification, EMC
testing and performance testing for customers in industries such as
household appliances, HVAC, cables and wiring accessories, industrial
machinery, medical devices, telecommunications, lighting, automotive,
semiconductor, building products and electronics. The company employs more
than 300 people at its Route 11 and south Main Street facilities.
The Chamber board comprises 15 people from a variety of sectors, all working
together to promote business and community growth. Key chamber programs and
projects include the annual Business Showcase, the annual GolfBake, monthly
“Business after Hours” events, frequent educational forums and seminars,
numerous quality of life initiatives and advocacy on behalf of the
organization’s 500 members.
