CHAMBER TO LAUNCH COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
Cortland, NY – The Cortland County Chamber of Commerce will launch its first-ever community awareness and membership campaign next week.
Assisted by CDS, Inc., a Texas firm that specializes in Chamber membership programs, local campaign volunteers will share with colleagues across the community the value of a Chamber membership. The Chamber hopes to add significantly to its 435-firm membership as a result of the effort.
“Our message is that folks can grow their businesses through Chamber membership,” said Chamber President Mark Travis. “We’ll be talking about the direct benefits of an investment in the organization, and how people can use those benefits to maximum effectiveness.”
Chamber members can take advantage of access to lower-cost health benefits and 401-k programs, a commercial energy savings program, exclusive listings in the Chamber’s membership directory and buyer’s guide, referrals by Chamber staff, advertising programs in the Chamber’s newsletter and on its revamped web site, and lower-cost access to the business showcase. In addition, members can participate in many of the Chamber’s networking programs, from the popular Business After Hours series to its fall GolfBake and Annual Dinner.
“We’re working very hard to make this Chamber all it can be, and I think we’re on the right track,” said Chamber executive director Garry VanGorder. “This campaign will help us share that news not only with prospective new members, but also with those who are already on board. It should be fun.”
Advertising packages, free passes to Chamber events, and other incentives will be offered to those firms that join the Chamber during the campaign, which runs April 9-11. Businesses interested in learning more about a Chamber membership should call 756-2814.
