CHAMBER Breakfast Series to Begin
A new Cortland County Chamber of Commerce breakfast series kicks off on Friday, April 4, with an in-depth look at how its health benefits program can help local businesses.
Moderated by Chamber executive director Garry VanGorder, the morning presentation at Pomeroy Place, 64 Pomeroy St., Cortland, will feature Bob Sedor and Tom Surowka, principals of the BRG Trust of Central New York. The firm administers the Chamber’s benefits program.
Sedor and Surowka will review the many options businesses have to tailor health benefits to their particular needs, and will also offer some perspective on what’s behind surging health care costs and what the prospects are for the future.
“Everybody knows these are tough times in terms of how businesses can manage the growing cost of providing health care coverage for their employees,” VanGorder said. “Many businesses already realize savings through their affiliation with the Chamber, but this is a great opportunity for others – members and non-members alike – to learn more about and take advantage of one of our premier benefits.”
Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. for registration and a continental breakfast. The program is scheduled to run from 8:00 to about 9:30 a.m. The cost is $5 for Chamber members and $7 for non-members. Interested parties should RSVP with the Chamber (756-2814) by Wednesday, April 2.
