CHAMBER
SHOWCASE A SELL-OUT
The 19th annual Cortland County Business Showcase is again sold out, with more 115 businesses and community organizations planning to participate.
Sponsored by the Cortland County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with First Niagara Bank and SUNY Cortland, the showcase will be held March 14-15 at the college’s Lusk Field House. A Friday evening preview party for exhibitors will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., and the showcase is open to the general public on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $2.00.
"The fact that the showcase is sold out again is a real tribute to the vitality of our business community," said Chamber executive director Garry VanGorder. "It also shows that there is real value in the showcase in that it presents a terrific, cost-effective opportunity for businesses to market themselves to colleagues and the general public."
Businesses large and small participate in the showcase, highlighting goods and services and in many cases offering great deals and free samples to passersby. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day, and refreshments are available. In addition to taking in the sights, visitors also have the opportunity to cash in on the many drawings and raffles that will be held during the course of the showcase. All of the booths are judged for their creativity and design, and special awards for the best are presented during the Friday evening preview party, which will feature hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and a special acoustic performance by local musicians Jazz Impressions.
